2008-2009 RESIDENT ARTIST PROGRAM AUDITIONS
The Opera Company of Brooklyn (OCB) announces auditions on September 27 and 28, 2008 for the 2008/2009 Season Resident Artist Program (RAP), an intensive 10-month professional training program for up to 16 singers and 2 conductor/coach/pianists. Most roles are cast directly from our RAP. OCB, going into its 9th Season, aims to provide a diverse range of training with a curriculum of individual and group coaching, dramatic coaching and master classes. This past year, Master Teachers included Ashley Putnam, Catherine Mafitano and Harolyn Blackwell. Performance opportunities include a city-wide Education program, Publicly-attended Master Classes, and concert-version as well as semi-staged productions with the main company. Rehearsals are in the evening, allowing singers to work day-jobs. All accepted RAP artists will receive a $200 honorary stipend. Postmark Deadline: September 12, 2008. Application Fee: $25.00 before August 12 and $35 thereafter. A pianist will be provided free of charge at the auditions for those who are selected to be heard. E-mail or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please mail your current headshot, resume and three (3) letters of recommendation to:
