Maestro Jay Meetze - Artistic and Music DirectorMaestro Meetze has conducted nearly fifty operas and is lauded for his “passionate and undeniably impressive command of performances” and “sympathetic leadership of the forces of the OCB.” (Opera News). His CD on Albany Records features Sheri Greenawald and Ashley Putnam in Thomas Pasatieri’s newly rewritten La Divina. Opera News named the CD Critic’s Choice and Top 10 of the Year. Meetze is featured in Classical Singer Magazine, CNN’s Tips from the Top, front-pages of Wall Street Journal and Crain’s NY Business. He is in two new arts administration books and has received rave reviews/articles in American Record Guide, NY Magazine and the NY Daily, Times and Post newspapers. He has landed OCB on the Jeopardy quiz show and Good Morning America with MythBusters.

Charles 'Chuck' Harburn - General Manager Born, raised and educated in Michigan, Chuck, as he is known by his associates, runs the Opera Company of Brooklyn from his home outside of Flint, Michigan. Founder Jay Meetze was also raised and educated in this area. Together in 2000 they founded and created this fine company. Mr. Harburn brings 40 years of experience in politics and business having started and ran several profitable companies, all which have trained and educated hundreds of people. He and Maestro Meetze, working together, create a perfect balance of artistic and administrative excellence. His sole purpose for working tirelessly at the helm of OCB is to create a welcomed environment for young talent to prepare themselves for a career they love. None of this is possible without the help and support of a wonderful and hard working board of directors. Chuck looks forward to hearing your suggestions on how to improve this company and will welcome your offer to help him help others.

Yoko Moriya Stetson- Director of Education and Outreach

Yoko Stetson, a native of Japan, completed her graduate studies in Art and Culture study at Sotheby's and Christies in London England, before completing an Italian opera study course in Florence, Italy. While in England, Mrs. Stetson also taught classes, organized events, and wrote articles introducing European opera to new audiences in Japan and elsewhere. Since relocating to the United States, Mrs. Stetson has held a variety of contributory roles at regional opera companies, and is professionally engaged in representing New York theater and music opportunities to investors in Asia.

Michael Nishimura - Associate Director of Marketing Michael Nishimura is a recent graduate of Boston University, where he received his Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance in May of 2008. Since then, he has moved to New York City and has developed an interest in business and specifically in marketing. Michael is very excited to develop his business and marketing skills at Opera Company of Brooklyn, while simultaneously assisting his fellow artists and musicians and supporting the arts in New York City.
